It has been five year since the last IFMA senior world championships have been held and qualifications are done all over the world.

This weekend saw the qualifications in Ukraine and Belarus with Ukrainian champions Anatoliy Sukhanov who is the WMC European Title holder, Konstantin Trishin the multiple World and European Champion, Vasil Sorokin the current World Champion and and many more won their spots in the team for Bangkok.

Champions from Belarus need no introduction in muaythai circles. Names like Dzmitry Varatz, Dzianis Hancharonak, Alena Liashkeviich, Yaheny Vauchik are all legends in their countries and strong power of the Belarus team. These athletes and many more made their team last weekend for Bangkok to win the Best Team trophy.

The Turkish winners of the national championships and the last year Antalya Open had to decide in a special event who will go to Bangkok to the World Championships and who will prepare for Minsk for the European Championships.
Around 100 countries are expected for the World Championships 18-30 July which will be an elite event held in honour of His Majesty the King birthday celebration.
