Pau Gasol on the Importance of the IAF
IOC AC member Pau Gasol, a five-time Olympian, three-time Olympic medallist, and NBA legend, expresses his enthusiasm for this year’s forum:

“I’m very excited for this year’s International Athletes’ Forum. I can’t wait to reconnect with some familiar faces, meet new ones, and reignite that communication to make it as productive and impactful as possible for everyone.”
Gasol highlights the unique opportunity the Forum provides for athlete representatives to engage, share their experiences, and advocate for positive change:
“At our core, we’re all athletes pursuing our passion, playing the sports that we love, and we go through a lot of similar situations. I’m looking forward to showing how strong our community is and how much we all care about each other.”
Key Discussions and Sessions

The IAF 2025 features plenary sessions, breakout workshops, and key discussions on athlete support, mental health, anti-doping, Olympic Games preparations, and more. IOC AC Chair Emma Terho, NBA legend Pau Gasol, and Olympic superstar Allyson Felix are just a few of the notable speakers set to share valuable insights.

Additionally, the much-anticipated Q&A with IOC President Thomas Bach will allow athlete representatives to ask important questions and express concerns directly to the International Olympic Committee.

Gasol urges all attendees to make the most of their participation:
“We try to encourage everyone to speak their mind, to start a dialogue. It’s a chance for you to express your voice and put your thoughts and needs in front of our community.”
