Hungary has become one of the leading muaythai forces in Europe and over the last few years have put their names down in the medal tables both on the continental and world level.

Ukraine is one of the leading muaythai countries in the world and one of the founding members of both IFMA and EMF and for generations have produced world-class elite athletes.

The time has come where 2 champions of both IFMA and EMF will meet from 2 different divisions, meeting in the middle to promote muaythai towards the European Games 2023.

Muaythai has proudly become a full medal sport at the European Games and both athletes are expected to represent their country in the 2022 World Games, 2023 World Combat Games, and European Games, and needless to say at the upcoming IFMA World Championships.

IFMA Vice-President Rafal Szlachta stated that regardless of who’s hand is raised in this contest the clear winner is Muaythai and this will showcase to the European Olympic Committee that the decision to include muaythai will bring one of the most exciting ring sports into the event.

The President of the European Federation Gennady Trukhanov who is also the President of the Ukrainian Muaythai Federation stated that the EMF is proud that muaythai has been fully recognised by the International Olympic Committee and included in the European Games and it is a result of the cooperation between all stakeholders in the IFMA family.

Norbert stated that he is excited to fight Igor who is one of the most highly decorated IFMA athletes in the world, the winner of the 2017 World Games, six times IFMA world champion and so many more.

Liubchenko stated that he has seen Norbert fight many times and that he has fantastic muaythai skills so he will make sure that he is on top of his game fighting in Hungary.

Good luck to the athletes and everyone competing on this amazing fight card.
