Muaythai; Like it is for footballers’ dream to play once in their lifetime at Wembley stadium, it is every Muaythai athletes’ dream to fight in their motherland, and no honour can be higher than to receive the Royal blessings from their beloved Royal family in Thailand. The IFMA Royal World Cup staged in Bangkok from the 13th – 23rd of August has received 4 Royal trophies from the Royal Family. His majesty the King donated the trophy for the best male athlete. Her majesty the Queen donated the trophy for the female category. His Royal Highness the Crown prince donated the trophy for the best junior athletes and Her Royal Highness the Princess donated the trophy for the best female junior athletes.
10 Days of competition, over 1000 fights, the gold medal winner in the respective weight divisions be the first to qualify for the World Games 2017 and the panel of judges from around the world made the final decisions on the final trophies. The outcome showed clearly that Muaythai is truly international and the winners are:
King’s Trophy to Thailand went to Vewart Comta for most outstanding performance in the Senior Male category; HM the Queen’s Trophy went to Sweden and Sofia Olofsson for most outstanding performance in the Senior Female category; HRH the Crown Prince’s trophy went to the Czech Republic and Tadeas Ruzicka Olofsson for most outstanding performance in the junior male category; while her HRH the Princess’s Cup went to Team England and Dakota Ditcheva for most outstanding performance in the junior female category.
