Elite Boxing co-promoted by One Songchai promotions and sanctioned by the WMC put on a world-class event in Thailand’s premiere shopping and entertainment complex the Siam Paragon.
Elite Boxing’s vision was to bring Las Vegas style events to Thailand and setting a new benchmark in muaythai promotions in the Kingdom.
The venue was filled with celebrities from movie and music industries, super models and VIPs from government and corporate sides.
The event was opened by HE General Pichitr Kullavanijaya privy councillor to HM the King and WMC honourary VP.
After a spectacular opening with light and sound, the ring was free for Thailand VS The World and the Thais sent their best to the battle.
The first fight was between Ali Yaakub, the Malaysian super star, winner of the Arafura games VS Sornthong Dennawee.
It was the perfect opening match of the evening and the Thai hunting from the start of the bell, and the Malaysian seemed to be in serious trouble in round 2. The Thai had totally underestimated the cleverness and strength of the Malaysian, as he worked out the Thai during the first 2 rounds, and in round 3 he went to work with devastating punch-kick combinations putting the Thai down twice and the stadium went silent when the referee stopped the fight in favour of Malaysia.
A fantastic effort and the Malaysian ambassador was on hand to give the winning certificates.
Fight #2 was a female title fight and famous Zaza won on points against the Thai challenger.
Fight #3 – Former King’s Cup champion and Thailand superstar Madsua took on Robbie Filiponi form Australia. Madsua showed his world-class dominating the fight form the get go, but credit must go to the Aussie for standing his ground. Unanimous decision went to Thailand.
Thai superstar Kaoklai took on Erik Kosztanko from Slovakia and Kaolklai totally dominating the first 3 rounds, but then tough as nails Erik put Kaoklai in dangerous waters in the late 4th ad 5th. Another victory for Thailand.
Next up was one of the highlights of the evening. Contender superstar Dzahbar Askerov against Thai superstar Nonsai. This fight had the audience on the edge of their seats. It was an all out war from the beginning to end.
Two model athletes did not give each other an inch! It was Nonsai with the help of the enthusiastic crowd taking the decision.
Next up, Thai sueprstar Nopparat against Antoint Pinto from France. This was one of the most technical classiest fight of the evening, which went down to a very very close decision again in favour of Thailand, but the young Frenchman showed why he is one of the superstars in the sport.
The final fight was the one may wanted to see, the super heavy weights. The WMC super star Ramazan Ramazanov against Brazilian champ Eduardo.
From the opening bell Ramazan showed just why he is one of the top fighters in the world and just before the bell of round one, unleashed a superb head kick to knock out the Brazilian challenger.
It was a night that many will remember as one of the most entertaining and well-matched muaythai events.
Congratulations must go out to Elite Boxing for organising this challenge and mastering it. Outstanding!!
