The Thai National team gave their official press conference to a packed room, as they plan to travel to Russia next week for the IFMA World Championships, with the hopes of regaining their number 1 team position in the world, a spot which has been intensely sought after in the past year.

The Thai team is filled with superstars such as Kem, and there are so many hopeful medallists in the team. The Thais want to book their spots early for the 2013 SportAccord World Combat Games.

Securing at least three spots in Russia is the target of the national team coach. In a statement, he said he knows how hard it will be, especially with the strong competition from Russia, Belarussia, and the Ukraine. The ever growing popularity of the sport around the world means that it will not be an easy task for Thailand. He said in the female division there is only one hopeful, as he understands how strong countries like Australia, Sweden, Finland, USA, and Canada are.

Many government officials, for example from the Sports Ministry and Sport Authority of Thailand, came to wish the Thai team good luck. There will be an over 50 pax Thai delegation making its way to Saint Petersburg next week.
