Darwin National Airport welcomed first muaythai teams early this morning with delegations from Vietnam, Austria, IFMA officials arriving for the Arafura Games 2019. National teams of Philippines, United Arab Emirates and Czech Republic have been testing the ground for few days, and teams from Ukraine, France, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Singapore making their way to Australia.

Arafura Games is the only event in 2019 which is a direct qualifier for the World Games 2021 in Men’s 63.5 kg, 91 kg and Women’s 57 kg, 63.5 kg. Athletes like Nina Scheucher (AUT), Karolina Klusova (CZE), Nora Cornolle (FRA), Oleg Prymachov (UKR), Igor Liubchenko (UKR), Jakub Klauda (CZE) made long way to use the chance and secure their spots long in advance the Games in Birmingham. The audience in Darwin will definitely have great bouts to see as each of these athletes is worth the spot.

 
Darwin Waterfront will see the opening ceremony tomorrow Friday, 26 April 2019 with athletes marching at the flag parade. Dance, music, and song will join together in a powerful show, highlighting the vast, culturally diverse communities we have in the Top End.

Little time left until the Chock command will start the first bout of the event and the world can enjoy the competition of the world top athletes competing for medals of the Arafura Games 2019.
