Istanbul International Airport is seeing many groups of people these days united by their national flag on their track suites and heading to their final destination – Antalya. The Youth World Muaythai Championships 2019 is bringing more than 1300 people to Turkey which is a world record number for a Muaythai event. 

Youth from around the world taking their flights covering thousands of kilometers, dealing with jet lags to be part of the most important youth tournament in 2019. The beautiful Kervansaray Lara hotel is ready to accommodate the participants and become a campus for sports, education, cultural exchange and most importantly making friends for hundreds of youth.

A plane fully booked for the Russian delegation counting 150 people landed today in Antalya making the heads turn in the airport. Team Iraq is another numerous delegation with 45 participants on the list was welcomed in the airport and the athletes were in the center of attention of the crowd in the airport as they were boarding the event bus.
Teams from Australia, USA, France, New Zealand, Morocco and so many more are showing that Muaythai keeps staying on top of popularity in their countries and the growing number of youth coming to IFMA events is the best evidence that soon the world will hear the new names challenging current IFMA champions.

Today the athletes’ accreditation will begin and all will be ready for the official draw to announce the competition schedule for the entire week. With some divisions counting more than 30 people it will be a truly a champion’s race for the gold medal.
