It is every athletes’ dream to participate in the IFMA World Championships. In the run up to The World Games 2021 the IFMA championships also will act as a qualifier for the pinnacle event – The World Games. The next edition of this multi-sport games will be held in Birmingham Alabama.

Team USA Muaythai is proud that the event will be held in their home turf. And the conquest has begun.
History was made on the first day at the IFMA World Championships where the elite athletes from 78 countries come together to compete for glory.
Thailand’s team was hailed as an All-Star team – as muaythai has become an international sport and Thailand is battling for their top spot so the pressure is on. The national team of Thailand is made up of some of the biggest names in muaythai.
On the opening day Asa Tenpow from the USA was matched with one of the most decorated athletes from Thailand and Asa set the house on fire with a world-class performance, sending the Thai superstar packing.
Listen to what Asa had to say after his bout here on IFMA Facebook.
This made headlines around the world, especially in Thailand. And showcased not only that muaythai is truly international, but the seriousness from the United States Muaythai Federation to be ready for Birmingham – and to compete against the best of the best and flying the American flag high. In total three out of four athletes moved onto the next round yesterday, with more in the ring today.
