The World Boxing Forum took place in the beautiful city of Yekaterinburg, Russia with leading representation from the Daryl peoples (IBF), Francisco Valcárcel (WBC), Gilberto Mendoza (WBA), Chosen Choice (WBC Vice-President), Governor of the Sverdlovsk region Yevgeny Kuyvashev and the management of Federation of Boxing of Russia, plus many executive board members of AIBA. Mr. Fox spoke as the former chairman of The World Combat Games and especially on the current issues Olympic Boxing is facing. Roy Jones Jr. was in the panel. He medalled in the 1988 Olympics and ihas become one of the greatest boxers of all time.

Mr. Fox made clear that he fully supports the decision made by the IOC Executive to protect the athletes. He stated, “The IOC’s decision was taken in the interest of the athletes and the sport of boxing and for this, we all must stand firm. Now the time has come to restore the credibility and protect the athletes.” Mr. Fox also questions why some boxing organizations interfere in other sports and he gave his own as an example.

Mr. Fox ended his speech, stating that he believes boxing is one of the greatest sports in the world. It’s far more than simply a sport, but it is in danger of knocking itself out and the Olympic Dream of so many athletes if it does not change its attitude.
