IFMA is highly honoured to have a representant speaking at the 2010 IF FORUM in Lausanne, Switzerland, jointly organized by SportAccord, IOC, and the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF). The Conference, “Better Business Practices For Running Your IF”, will be held from Monday November 22nd to Wednesday 24th.
The Forum will be opened at 16:30 with the first speaker being the President of IOC, Dr Jacques Rogge, followed by the President of SportAccord, Hein Verbruggen.
WMC Vice-President and IFMA General Secretary , Stephan Fox, has been invited again to be one of the IF Forum speakers on the topic “How to be a Contender”, which seeks to present the use of media to promote sport and athletes. From a personal experience we know that the sport of muaythai gives much of its popularity to television and reality shows.
This is a great honour for IFMA, as Mr Fox was also one of the main speakers at the SportAccord Combat Games in Beijing on the social values and contribution of martial arts to society and crime prevention.
Forums like this are important to promote muaythai towards the IOC and the fact that IFMA is invited again shows the respect muaythai is receiving and particularly the fast globalisation of the sport.
