Planning ahead is the foundation of IFMA development and to ensure that all member federations are part of the planning process.Ensuring that the athletes continue to be at the heart of any competition is important for IFMA.
Various events are planned for the next three years and all host cities have sent representatives either from their government, organising committee or NOC to present to the IFMA Executive Board and AGM. The city of Jonkoping, Sweden – the host of the upcoming World Championship 2016, was represented by the Mayor himself with some government delegation and the CEO of the organising committee. These high level representatives traveled to Bangkok to present the final preparation for the 2016 World Championships, which will be also a qualifier for the 2017 World Games under patronage of the IOC.
The mayor made a heartfelt speech thanking the IFMA family for welcoming them, for the hospitality given and stated that he is looking forward to welcome the IFMA family along with Sweden and the citizens of Jonkoping to one of Sweden’s most beautiful regions.
The CEO of the event Mr. Daniel Norrgard made a detailed presentation on the stadium, hotels, convention, cultural education events.
IFMA President Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan presented a special token to Jonkoping as a reminder of the responsibilities ahead and that IFMA is truly looking forward to be in Sweden next year.
