The Namaste Thailand Festival 2023 successfully came to an end after three days of fun-filled activities and performances. The Festival was organised by the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi, led by Ambassador H.E. Ms. Pattarat Hongtong and Minister and Deputy Chief of The Royal Thai Embassy, Mr.Thirapath Mongkolnavin and in collaboration with the Government of Thailand and the Tourism Authority of Thailand and various partners from 24 – 26 March 2023 at the Plaza, Select Citywalk, New Delhi.
UMAI under the Presidency of Mr. Prasenjit Singha, is a proud member of IFMA, solely recognized by the International Olympic Committee and Olympic Committee of Asia, recognizing Thailand as the motherland and the relationship between IFMA and Thailand and the national federation is key.
The Secretary General Shri Ram Choudhary discussed with Her Excellency the Ambassador the future cooperation especially as there are many events coming up in the Asian region.
Live Muaythai performances were featured at the Namaste Thailand Festival powered by Thai Airways International and Aditya Birla Group. Shri Ram Choudhary, Secretary General of UMAI received a very warm welcome by the Thai Embassy in Delhi.
It was an extravagant event with over 20,000 people in attendance. Muaythai demonstrations were presented by UMAI national athletes Mohit Verma, Netu Meherwal, Harsh Sharma and Lakshya Kaushik. This event was a huge success with many VIP’s in attendance including members of parliament and government officials to join in the celebration of the Namaste Thailand Festival.
India is preparing for the upcoming IFMA World Championships and also celebrating 30 Years of IFMA. Further, India is hopeful to make history at the Asian Games and qualify for the World Combat Games 2023 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The grassroots development for India is key to build for the future and India will send a strong youth delegation to the upcoming Youth World Championships in Turkey in September.
