The Chungju Stadium was full to the bursting point as spectators, participating countries and distinguished guests arrived to open the 2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships. 

It was the night full of memorable moments starting from the flag parade, and athletes’ march wearing their national suits and dresses. Rounds of endless cheer echoed around the stadium and the Korean crowd was proud to host the world through sport in the city of Chungju.
His Excellency the 8th Secretary General of the United Nations Ki Moon Ban, Prime Minister of the Republic of South Korea Lee Nak-yeon, the Mayor of Chungju City Gil Hyeung Cho, the Governor of Chungjcheongbuk-do Province Si jong Lee, President of GAISF Raffaele Chiulli, Vice President of GAISF, IFMA Secretary General Stephan Fox, sports ambassadors and so many personalities were present at the ceremony that the event could be easily compared to one of the UN Assemblies. This time the delegates gathered to celebrate sports and martial arts in all its beauty and the opening ceremony proved to be a sight to remember.


The speeches were followed with the performance of each martial art demonstrations which kept the audience breathless for the entire show. Cultural show again proved that Korea is a truly unique country in the heart of Asia which will always be a welcoming host to athletes from all over the world.

 

Fireworks lit up the faces of the crowd concluding the opening ceremony and officially declaring the 2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships open, and it was no other than distinguished citizen of Korea H.E. Ki Moon Ban who took the torch to light the Masterships flame.


Thank you Chungju, thank you Republic of South Korea for this experience Muaythai athletes will remember long after their athletes’ career is over. These are the moments which make sports unique.
