In front of the President of SportAccord Mr Hein Verbruggen, the President of the World Muaythai Council General Thanajaro, the President of IFMA Dr Tapsuwan, and so many dignitaries from around the world, beautiful Samarkand was the perfect venue for this historical event.
The stage was set with lights, and the stands were packed to the last seat with spectators. It was a night of cultural and sporting excellence, with two of Uzbekistan’s athletes making their country and home town of Samarkand proud, by qualifying for the SportAccord World Combat Games.
The road is set for the second edition of the Silk Road Cup. Special thanks must go to the Government of Uzbekistan and the Uzbekistan Muaythai Federation, for their support in making this event such a success.
