As the year 2017 comes to an end we would like to reflect on another successful year for IFMA and we would like to thank our hardworking National Federations, our Executive Board and Commissions, our officials and most importantly our athletes for making 2017 an outstanding first year as an IOC recognised sport federation.

We have a long list of organisations and associations we would like to give special thanks to this year; our Belorussian NF under President Yuriy Dyurd as the host of this year’s World Championships; the Olympic Committee of Asia and Turkmenistan for a memorable Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games, the beautiful city of Wroclaw and the International World Games Association for including muaythai as a full medal sport in TWG2017; FISU for fully recognising muaythai and for hosting the upcoming World University Championships in Thailand, the Amateur Muaythai Association of Thailand and the Royal Thai Government for hosting our flag ship event, the Youth World Championships in Bangkok; the Malaysian Government, National Olympic Committee and Dato Shahnaz Azmi for a successful SEA Games, our French NF under President Nadir Allouache for hosting a very successful European Championships in Paris; our Pan-American Continental Federation under the Presidency of Elisa Salinas for hosting the Pan American championships in Mexico, the Peruvian NF under the Presidency of Jorge Acevedo for hosting the South American championships in Lima, Peru; and lastly our Moroccan NF under the Presidency of Abdelkarim El Hilali for hosting the African Championships in Kenitra.

We also would like to congratulate the Oceania Muaythai Federation on the decision of the Olympic Committee of Asia to include them in participation of Asian events and also a big thanks to Muaythai Australia for succeeding in getting muaythai back in the revived Arafura Games.

2018 will continue with the IFMA World Championships held in Cancun Mexico, the FISU WUC in Pattaya Thailand, the European Championships in Prague Czech Republic, the Youth World Championships in Bangkok Thailand and the Asian Championships in Macau and the list goes on.

We are also proud that Bangkok will host the 2018 SportAccord Convention in which IFMA will play a major role.

Let us continue to work together as one, for and with our youth as they are our future. Let us continue on our five important pillars, using muaythai to create a social change, promoting and enforcing the Olympic values, and especially at this time of the year, Olympic humanity.

The IFMA office will be closed from the 23rd of December – 8th January.

Until then, on behalf of the IFMA Executive Board, we send you a World of Good Wishes!! One of the real joys this holiday season is the opportunity to say thank you and wish you the very best for the new year.

May the magic and the wonder of the holiday season stay with you throughout the coming year.

Sincerely,
