Bangkok, Thailand – October 17, 2023 – The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) proudly celebrated its 60th anniversary with a grand ceremony, presided over by H.E. Mr. Suwong Theanthong, the Minister of Tourism and Sports. The event was graced by key figures, including Ms. Natthiya Thaveewong, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, International Olympic Committee (IOC) member, Dr. Gongsak Yodmani, Governor of the SAT, and Dr. Sakcye Tapsuwan, former Governor and President of IFMA.
Reflecting on six decades of leadership in Thai sports development, SAT reaffirmed its dedication to advancing sports excellence by enhancing athletes’ capabilities through comprehensive development programs and scientific approaches. The celebration also highlighted SAT’s role in promoting national pride and positioning Thailand as a host for prestigious international events, such as the Asian Games and Southeast Asian Games, and in nurturing Olympic champions in boxing, weightlifting, and taekwondo.

- Development of National Talent: Nurturing elite athletes in sports such as Muaythai, badminton, and football through talent development programs and state-of-the-art facilities.

Stephan Fox, President of AIMS and SportAccord Executive Member, extended his gratitude to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and SAT for their international cooperation in sports development.
