Good-Morning-Aarhus

A SportAccord Convention tradition was kept alive bright and early this morning in Aarhus at the muaythai workout session which has become a popular staple for many participants of SportAccord Convention.

Again it was full house with representatives from different sports, organisations and host cities tore themselves out of bed in the early hours to join the session led not only by the usual suspect Stephan Fox, General Secretary of IFMA and President of AIMS, but this year the workout was co-led by IWGA’s 2016 Athlete of the Year and multiple IFMA World Champion Sofia Olofsson. Together with the assistance of the Danish Muaythai Federation’s member local gym, delegates got a smashing workout which was the perfect blend of sweaty cardio, technique and culture.

It was great to welcome new and old friends who have been regular participants of the activity since its debut at the 2010 SportAccord Convention on the beaches of Dubai; and all could see their skills maintained over the years of training with Good Morning Muaythai at SportAccord Convention over the last seven years!!Good-Morning-Aarhus1

IFMA President Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan again proved that age is only a number and as always took the participants through careful instruction on technique and form.
A big thanks to athletes and coaches from the Danish Muaythai Federation who shared their expertise with participants of the workout, held pads, showed basics of the art of 8 limbs and just made this morning fun and enjoyable. All the participants left with a new pair of gloves to continue their muaythai journey, a souvenir t-shirt and a spring in their step energised for the day!!!
