Her Excellency Yingluck Shinawatra graciously donated the female trophy for the April 3rd, “Muaythai Towards the Highest Recognition” event organized by the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA) and the World Muaythai Council (WMC).
After a spectacular opening, Australia’s Caley Reece, WMC World Champion, faced off against the Polish champion Magdalena Rak. Stepping into the ring, they proved once again that female fighting can be just as popular as male fighting. This was one of the classiest fights staged in Thailand, with both girls making a very traditional ring entrance accompanied by music representing their countries. Both girls demonstrated all of muaythai’s weapons to perfection. It was Caley Reece who took the victory in a very close match, earning the Prime Minister’s cup, given by the President of the WMC, General Chjetta Thanajaro. Congratulations to both fighters, for an outstanding match and for taking part in this prestigious event.
