The WMC, BlackHawk Sports AG and One Songchai staged a combined press conference to do the official draw for the King’s Cup 2010 super 8 tournament.
The press conference was presided over by H.E. General Pichitr Kullavanijaya, privy councilor to HM the King.
General Chetta Thanajaro, WMC President, Benjamin Aebisher and Marin Huter of BlackHawk Sports AG, Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan IFMA President, Khun Oh Ratasuban of One Songchai Promotions and Stephan Fox, WMC Vice President all made speeches on the historical event.
The press conference was hosted by Thai TV personality Sonia Couling.
History was made as Cosmo Alexandre was the first boxer ever to take the trophy outside of Thailand at last year’s King’s Cup. As Sonia Couling introduced him into the room, he proudly marched in, trophy in hand to place it back on display in front a picture of HM the King.
All 8 boxers received a standing ovation from the capacity packed ballroom of the Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel.

This year’s King’s Cup is the biggest in history, with Yodsaenklai carrying the hopes of the Kingdom of Thailand to claim the trophy back.
