The International Day of Persons with Disabilities, proclaimed by the United Nations, is a global call to recognize the rights, contributions, and extraordinary potential of persons with disabilities. For IFMA and the muaythai community, it is more than just a day of awareness—it is a testament to the sport’s unwavering dedication to inclusion, equality, and inspiration.

The Muaythai for Everybody campaign, launched in 2011, has been a driving force in promoting the idea that muaythai is a sport for all. In 2023, this vision reached a historic milestone with the inclusion of Para Muaythai and Special Muaythai as official divisions within the IFMA World Championship program. This bold step reaffirms muaythai’s position as a sport that embraces diversity and uplifts every individual.\

On December 5th, during the iconic King’s and Queen’s Cup Trophy Event, this commitment was brought to life on the grandest stage. The event, broadcast worldwide, highlighted two extraordinary Thai athletes who embody the spirit of perseverance and excellence.

These champions stood at the heart of the event, their stories transcending borders and barriers, reminding the world that greatness lies within everyone, regardless of ability.

As muaythai continues to grow as a global sport, IFMA remains committed to its mission of fostering a community built on the values of non-discrimination, inclusion, and Olympism. With every step forward, muaythai reaffirms its power to break barriers, celebrate differences, and unite people from all walks of life.

This is more than a sport. It is a movement—a celebration of the indomitable human spirit. And with champions like Lapasi and Ponlakrit leading the way, the world of muaythai is brighter, stronger, and more inclusive than ever.
