Over 100 technical officials and national federation administrators participated in the R&J Training Webinar for the 2021 IFMA Virtual World Championships last Friday.
The session was opened by IFMA Secretary General Stephan Fox who reiterated the importance of the event which brings opportunity to participate at an IFMA international event to those who may normally not have the ability to travel to the regular live events. Importantly, he noted that the event enables both athletes and officials form around the world to study and train in not only the physical aspects, but also the cultural, traditional and technical aspects of the sport.
Leading the Virtual Championship Team of Jury ITOs, Gunter Plank delivered training on the judging and scoring for the Wai Kru, Max Fit, and Shadow Box disciplines, while ITO Abby Nelson delivered the training for the Shadow Box discipline. Chair of the IFMA Cultural and Heritage Commission Ajarn Chao together with Kru Id where on hand to deliver the training on the regulation movements of the newest discipline of competition – Mae Mai Muaythai.
The last part of the session delivered from Alex Savitskiy from Rsportz, covered training on the online competition platform being used this year for the judging and scoring. The IFMA event registration partner Rsportz has partnered with the SportsData platform to provide a more streamlined system for the submission and judging phase of the Virtual competition. Attendees were shown how to access the platform, check for their assigned bouts and how to enter their scores into the live system.
Just 10 days remain for teams to complete their registration and submissions and our over 100 R&Js will be put to their duties for the 2021 IFMA World Virtual Championships!
