While the rings in Athens were filled with thrilling action throughout the IFMA European Championships 2025, the education arena was equally active. This year’s event hosted a four-day OSM (One Standard Muaythai) Coaching Course, empowering coaches through a structured education programme designed to elevate athlete development, welfare, and performance.
Delivered from 19–22 November, the course brought together internationally recognised experts and senior IFMA leaders to strengthen the coaching pathway in Europe. The programme covered key topics such as safeguarding, clean sport, nutrition, health and safety, and practical Muaythai coaching modules.
According to the official schedule, sessions featured:
• Opening keynote by IFMA Secretary General Stephan Fox, presenting One World, One Muaythai
• A safeguarding module delivered by James Tucker and Katie Hart of Real World Academies
• A Clean Sport Essentials workshop led by Charissa Tynan, IFMA Director General and ITA Clean Sport Educator
• A nutrition session by IFMA Sports Director Janice Lyn
• Sports psychology with Mohammad Amr
• Athlete health and safety led by Dr Erdogan Aydin, Chair of IFMA Medical
• Multiple practical technical sessions delivered by Muaythai Master Ajarn Anan Meksawan.

The course’s structure balanced theory and practice, with daily hands-on sessions designed to support coaching skill development and ensure alignment with IFMA’s global coaching standards.
Participants represented a diverse range of national federations and clubs, reflecting IFMA’s commitment to providing high-quality education accessible to all corners of the Muaythai community.
The OSM pathway continues to play a central role in IFMA’s long-term vision:
to ensure that every athlete is guided by knowledgeable and ethically grounded coaches who prioritise safety, wellbeing, and integrity both inside and outside the ring.
The final morning concluded with the official certificate presentation, recognising each participant’s achievement and their contribution to raising coaching standards across Europe.

By integrating coach education directly into major championships, IFMA reinforces a core principle — athletes and coaches must grow together.
And here in Athens, that principle was lived to the fullest.
