July 28 was a momentous day in muaythai history as IFMA athletes entered the stage at The World Games for the first time. A parade and ceremony took place at the Hala Orbit in beautiful Wroclaw before the bouts.

One athlete from each country entered the stadium carrying their national flag to loud cheers; especially of course for the Polish flag which took up the rear.

President Dr Sakche Tapsuwan welcomed the athletes to The World Games. He reminded them of the five pillars of muaythai; excellence, honour, fair play, respect and tradition.

IFMA was happy to host dignitaries from the world of sport including the IWGA President Jose Perurena , and the head of kickboxing organisation WAKO Mr. Borislav Pelevic. The head of the International Fistball Organisation Karl Weiss also attended.

IFMA General Secretary Stephan Fox said how exciting this event would be, and what a great opportunity it is for the athletes to showcase their skills on a global stage.
