Thailand was deeply honoured when the IFMA World executive board  in 2014, announced it as the winning bidder for the World Cup 2015. The Amateur Muaythai Association of Thailand under Royal patronage, IFMA solely representing Muaythai in Thailand and the Thai government went immediately to work.

It has been six years since Thailand was given a major world event and the Royal Family is donating 4 trophies for this event.Namely, His Majesty the King’s Trophy, Her Majesty the Queen’s Trophy, His Royal Highness the Prince’s Trophy and Her Royal Highness Princess Sirinthorn’s Cup.

All the arrangements have been made by both the Amateur Muaythai Association of Thailand, FAMA the continental arm of IFMA recognised by the OCA, and IFMA to ensure that this will be the biggest event held in Thailand.

IFMA President, Dr Sakchye Tapsuwan stated that Thailand is truly honored to stage the Muaythai World Cup with 102 countries traveling to Thailand showcase the popularity of the sport. FAMA President H.E. Karim Massimov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan said that FAMA is honored that after Malaysia 2014, another major event went to Asia and having it in the beautiful Kingdom of Thailand makes it a truly special event.

The Minister of Tourism and Sport, Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul expressed full support for the event and the sport of muaythai and ensured that all the relevant actions will be taken to promote the sport at the international arena.

The Royal World Cup is going to be more than just an event, as there will be over 20 international meetings held during the event including the World Meeting with new elections taking place for the IFMA executive board, all continental executive board meetings will take place. The special gala night along with the opening promises for this to be an event of culture and friendship.

Today we mark the 30 day countdown and along with Thailand, we are ready to welcome the participants in the Kingdom of Thailand at this truly grand event.open
