To be nominated for an International Emmy Award is one of the highest honours for any actor, producer or television show.

Challenger Muaythai made it as one of the four final nominations in its category of Non-scripted Entertainment, giving the sport even more credibility than it already possesses in the international media.

Arriving by stretch limo, and undergoing the red carpet experience, surrounded by celebrities like Jessica Lange, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan and many more, nominees made their way into the 40th Anniversary International Emmy Awards Gala, held at the New York Hilton Hotel.

The gala was hosted by one of America’s best known faces in television, Regis Philbin, while the night’s special honourees were Glee’s Ryan Murphy (International Emmy Founders Award) Alan Alda (40th Anniversary Special International Emmy Founders Award), Norman Lear (40th Anniversary Special International Emmy Founders Award), and Dr. Kim In-Kyu (International Emmy Directorate Award).

Challenger was represented by IOM founder Mr. Riaz Mehta, David Knox, Joe Lin, and the host and WMC Vice President, Stephan Fox.

A big thank you must go to the Malaysian Muaythai Federation and its president, Dato’Shahnaz Asmi, who hosted and supported “The Challenger Muaythai”  which was filmed in Malaysia.

It was a night of stars and glamour, and of course Muaythai. No doubt Muaythai will work harder to win the Emmy next time round!
