The Muaythai Youth Championships in the United Arab Emirates concluded with powerful symbolism and national pride as the final day aligned with Emirati Children’s Day on March 15th, a day that reflects the UAE’s deep commitment to safeguarding the rights, well‑being, and future of every child. This meaningful connection underscored a shared belief central to both the nation and IFMA: investing in children is investing in the long‑term prosperity, stability, and unity of the country.
A Celebration of Youth, Culture, and National Values
More than 1,000 young athletes from across the Emirates came together to compete in a full spectrum of Muaythai disciplines, from the cultural art of Wai Kru beginning at age 8 to combat divisions up to under‑18. The championships honored Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi, widely revered as the Mother of the Nation, whose lifelong dedication to children, families, and education continues to shape the UAE’s vision for the future.

From this extraordinary gathering of talent, around 40 young athletes earned their place on the UAE National Youth Team, securing qualification for the IFMA Youth World Championships 2026 in Ancient Greece—a historic stage where they will proudly represent their nation.
Upholding IFMA’s Highest Standards of Safety and Integrity
The UAE Muaythai Federation ensured that the championships were conducted under full IFMA safety and medical protocols, reflecting the nation’s unwavering commitment to protecting every young athlete.
- Comprehensive medical examinations were completed prior to competition.
- Official weigh‑ins followed strict IFMA procedures.
- Ringside medical teams were present throughout the event.
These measures ensured that athlete health, safety, and well‑being remained the top priority, fully aligned with IFMA’s global standards for youth protection.

Leadership, Vision, and National Support
Held as part of the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ramadan Championship, the event received strong institutional backing. His Excellency Abdullah Al Neyadi, President of the UAE Muaythai Federation and Vice President of IFMA, reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to empowering the next generation, stating that through sport, young people learn the values of respect, discipline, courage, and unity.
He further emphasized that under the vision of the UAE leadership and the guidance of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, the UAE continues to place the well‑being, protection, and development of children at the center of national progress.
“Every child deserves opportunity, encouragement, and a safe environment to dream big,” he added. “Today we celebrate our children, their potential, and the bright future they represent for the United Arab Emirates.”
A Bright Future for the UAE’s Young Nak Muay

The success of the Muaythai Youth Championships stands as a testament to the dedication of athletes, coaches, families, and organizers. It also reflects the UAE’s growing role as a leader in youth sport development within the global Muaythai community.
