Once again, the MPL sanctioned by the WMC put on a spectacular event.

Round two of the league went Italiano, with one of the finest productions in the history of the sport.

The tournament once again saw the best of the best battling it out to earn points towards the semifinals.

CATEGORY -63.5KG – SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT

Round two of the league’s female division saw some heavy clashes…

Ilona Wijmans (NED) def. Chantal Ughi (ITA) by Decision
A very technical fight but the Dutch girl proved to be quicker on her feet.

Tainara Lisboa (BRA) def. Sandra Bastian (CAN) by Split Decision
One of the surprise decisions after a very close fight. A split decision with both girls showing world class skills.

 

 

CATEGORY -66.6 KG – WELTERWEIGHT

Saiyok Pumpanmuang (THA) def. Mauro Serra (ITA) by Decision

Saiyok utilised all 8 weapons of Muaythai and kept the audience on their feet, but Mauro the home boy displayed a never die attitude and really put the heat on The Thai superstar, but just didn’t get hot enough and the unanimous decision went to Saiyok.
Mohammed Khamal (MOR) def. Liam Harrison (UK) by Split Decision
This was one of the most talked about decisions of the evening as Liam got an 8 count in the first round but protested that it was not a knockdown…. both fighters showed world class muaythai.
The audience will have to decide how they think it went on TV!!

 

CATEGORY -72.5KG – MIDDLEWEIGHT

Vladimir Moravcik (SVK) vs. Rosario Presti (ITA) fight to a DRAW
A great fight by both boys so evenly matched and toe to toe that the judges could not separate them.

Ky Hollenbeck (USA) def. Jordan Watson (UK) by Decision
Another very talked about fight as Jordan received an 8 count which could’ve cost him the fight but Ky Hollebnbeck proved that US Fighters can indeed beat the best in the world. A re-match is brewing in the kitchen and god knows they may meet again in the league!!

CATEGORY -82.5KG – LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT

Marc De Bonte (Bel) def. Jiri Zak (CZE) by Split Decision

This was hands down one of the best fights of the evening. The young Belgium fighter putting on a world class performance to beat the former WMC Champion.

Kaoklai Kaennorsing (THA) def. Roberto Cocco (ITA) by Decision
A very close fight and great performance by both fighters, Kaoklai stronger in the grapple but Roberto showed great punching power.

CATEGORY -95KG – HEAVYWEIGHT
Ramazan Ramazanov (RUS)def. Chris Knowles (UK) by KO
This was one of the hardest fights, Chris really put the heat on Ramazan in round one with big leg kicks. In round two Ramazan changed styles and caught Chris with a big punch to the liver ending the fight.

SUPERFIGHT:
Kaopon Lek (THA) def. Charles Francois (FRA) by TKO in Round 3
Former Thai fighter of the year Kaopan lek showed that he still got skills by beating French fighter Charles Francois.

All in all a great evening with many VIPS in the audience. The world is looking forward to round three in Holland in November!!!
