The Finals of the Combat Division at the 33rd SEA Games were nothing short of spectacular. With families, fans, and honorable VIPs and IFMA Family from around the world filling the historic Lumpinee Stadium, the atmosphere was electric as Southeast Asia’s finest athletes stepped into the ring.

Thailand’s national team led the way on home soil, competing with heart, pride, and determination. Their efforts were rewarded with 11 gold medals in the combat division, while Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia each secured 2 gold medals. It was a night of triumph, emotion, and unforgettable moments both in the ring and on the podium.

Female Division Highlights

The Golden Nak Muay Sisters — Niracha and Nirawan Tangchio — lit up Lumpinee Stadium, each claiming gold in the Senior Female 48kg and 54kg divisions respectively.

From powerful performances in the ring to the emotional moment of placing their gold medals on their parents at the podium, their victories symbolized more than sport — they embodied family, tradition, and national pride.

  • Niracha Tangchio, the younger sister, capped off a remarkable year following her gold at the Asian Youth Games. Her relentless Muay Khao style proved unstoppable, securing her victory.
  • Nirawan Tangchio, a multiple IFMA World Champion and World Combat Games winner, showcased her experience and resilience. Facing Singapore’s rising star Ginny Teo, Nirawan battled through a split decision to bring home gold for Thailand.

For the first time competing together on the international stage, the Tangchio sisters shared the spotlight and wrote history side by side — a true celebration of Muaythai spirit, culture, and the bond of family.

Congratulations, Niracha & Nirawan — you’ve made your nation, your family, and the Muaythai world proud!

Elsewhere in the female division, Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Phuong Hau delivered a masterclass in the Senior Female 60kg category. Using her reach, precision, and powerful strikes, she overcame Thailand’s Areeya Sahot to claim gold for Vietnam.

Male Division Highlights

  • In the Senior Male 48kg division, Thailand’s Supphanat Phetrak put on a world-class performance against Vietnam’s Duong Duc Bao, taking each round with skill and composure.
  • One of the most thrilling matches of the night saw Malaysia’s superstar Muhammad Mikail Ghazali bin Zulfikar face Thailand’s Suphakon Sirilun. With both athletes giving everything and their nations cheering loudly, Ghazali edged out Sirilun to secure gold for Malaysia.
  • Thailand’s Narongchai Chaithong dominated the Senior Male 71kg division against Vietnam’s Thang Bang Quang, landing precise and effective strikes that stopped his opponent in the second round.
