

Paris, 1st August 2024—A delegation of over 40 Muay Boran performers, Pi Muay musicians, Muaythai Masters, and IFMA staff members have arrived in Paris today, marking the beginning of an exciting week of Muaythai demonstrations across the city. From 2nd to 10th August, Paris will be immersed in Muaythai culture, with the focal point being the renowned Teddy Riner Arena, which will host the Muaythai House.
A Grand Opening at the Teddy Riner Arena
The Muaythai House will open its doors on 2nd August with a grand inauguration ceremony hosted by the City of Paris, the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA), the French Federation of Kickboxing, Muaythai and Associated Disciplines (FFKMDA), and the Sport Authority of Thailand. This event will serve as the headquarters for all Muaythai activities over the next eight days.
A Hub of Muaythai Activities
The event will kick off with the prestigious IFMA One Standard Muaythai (OSM) Coaches Course, featuring 70 Muaythai instructors from Paris. The three-day course aims to standardise Muaythai coaching methods and will include representatives from the International Testing Agency (ITA) and other Olympic stakeholders.
Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan, President of IFMA, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We are delighted to bring Muaythai to the heart of Paris. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the sport’s rich history and its modern-day relevance. We look forward to engaging with the local community and the international audience alike.”
Performances and Events Galore
The World Demonstration Team will arrive on 2nd August to rehearse their performances, which will take place from 4th to 9th August at various venues, including the OLY House. The weekend of 5th and 6th August will see Club France hosting a series of Muaythai activities designed to engage and entertain enthusiasts.
Among the numerous events, a highlight is the charity seminar featuring Muaythai superstars Buakaw, Jimmy Vienot, and Iman Barlow. With over 300 participants already registered, this seminar promises to be an unforgettable experience. Many delegates from the Olympic movement are also expected to attend, making it a significant event in the Muaythai calendar.
Nadir Allouache, President of the French Muaythai Federation, welcomed the delegation with open arms. “We are thrilled to host our Thai counterparts and showcase the beauty and discipline of Muaythai to the people of Paris. This event is a testament to the strong bond between our nations and our shared passion for this incredible sport,” he said.
A Warm Welcome in Paris
Upon arrival at Paris airport, the Thai delegation was warmly welcomed by their French counterparts before making their way to check-in. With the stage set and the excitement building, Paris is ready to experience the best of Muaythai.
The Muaythai House at Teddy Riner Arena will serve as the epicentre of this cultural exchange, promising a week filled with thrilling demonstrations, educational courses, and community engagement.
