Canadian Muaythai concluded the national qualification last week making the team for the events in 2020.

Gold medalists in qualifying divisions at the National Championship will have the opportunity to represent Canada on the 2020 National Team which will compete internationally at the 2020 Pan Am Championship, the 2020 World Championship, and the 2020 Youth World Championship.

Each year IFMA adds more events to the calendar and 2020 is confirmed see the following edition of the ARAFURA Games in Australia where Canadian national champions can reveal their skills and build the image if their country in martial arts. This year Canada was strongly represented at the 2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships where Taylor McClatchie won silver medal. Taylor doubled her national gold medal score and will represent her team next year at IFMA events.
The Canadian Muaythai Championships became the biggest event in its history which speaks for the consistent growth of the popularity among practitioners and spectators who saw the record number of the bouts. the Mayor of the hosting city Markham, Frank Scarpitti, again welcomed the National Championship for the second year in a row showing the support for Muaythai athletes from all around Canada.

The Canadian team is showing presence at ever more IFMA events and is getting ever higher in the team rankings.
