Being an IOC recognised federation and sport comes with serious responsibility and duties and using the unique power of muaythai to contribute to society, do good feel good is not just a slogan as the only time muaythai athletes look down is to help others back on their feet.

This weekend October the 31st will see an evening of Muaythai in Kowloon Bay at the International Trade & Exhibition Center (KITEC) Star Hall in Hong Kong. The event which is sanctioned by the WMC will feature international bouts with world class IFMA and WMC fighters such as Andrei Kulebin and Janice Lynn to name a few all fighting for a good cause.

World Muaythai Charity Fight 2017 is organised by Master CHAN Tak Hing who is Vice President of the Hong Kong Muay Thai Association and also the Chairmen for this event. The aim for this event is proclaim Muaythai and offer help to those in need in the society through organising sporting events.

The two charities the event will be donating to are as follows

CEAA HK Conservation of Earth and Animal Association – CEAA Mission: Animals Rescue, Public Education, Environmental protection Education, Social Responsibility and Oversea Promotion

Hong Kong Rehabilitation – Aim: to promote the concept of inspiring disables to develop confidence and ability in self-dependent; over seventy percent of our full-time staffs are persons with disabilities

There will be eight WMC title fights on the event with 6 Asian champion bouts alongside 2 Intercontinental title bouts.

Promoter Pak Lung stated that he is so excited to get such a high calibre of fighters to Hong Kong from around the world but more importantly he is proud that the athletes are contributing to society by doing a charity event by using the power of sport to make a difference.

Janice Lynn Chair of the athlete’s commission commented on the event saying that is great when athletes pull together to make a difference, it is amazing how teamwork can help others and both of these charities are doing amazing work so we are excited to see how they will use the funds from the event in continuing their work.
