The city of Chungju, Korea has been making a tremendous effort in preparation for the 2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships where Korea will host 22 martial arts with Muaythai represented by IFMA athletes from around the world.

The highest sport authorities of Korea have given patronage to the event with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korean Sports & Olympics, Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, Korea Tourism Organization, and Korean National Commission for UNESCO and many others expressed their support to the 2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships.
The honorary President of the Games, none other than the former Secretary General of the United Nations Mr. Ban Ki-moon is a great honour for the event.

The event is scheduled from 30 August to 6 October with the muaythai competition being showcased at the beautiful Venue  of the Hoam Gymnasium accommodating up to 3000 people.


The opening ceremony on 30 August will showcase years of preparation and will celebrate the friendship within the martial arts festival where worldwide martial artists are united.

Muaythai will be contested in the following weight divisions:

Men: 54kg, 57kg, 63.5kg, 67kg, 71kg, 75kg, 81kg,
Women: 51kg, 54kg, 60kg

The Masterships will be full of side events promoting cultural exchange through martial arts, values through five senses, Exhibitions & Activities and Chungju World Martial Arts Festival and will definitely be an exciting experience for everyone visiting the event.
