Kuala Lumpur will take centre stage this week as Malaysia hosts a major international Muaythai event organised by the Malaysian Muaythai Federation, the sole recognised governing body for Muaythai in Malaysia.

Held under the sanctioning of the World Muaythai Council under Royal Patronage and the International Federation of Muaythai Associations, fully recognised by the International Olympic Committee, the event will bring together elite athletes from across multiple continents for an evening showcasing the very best of the sport.

From established world champions to emerging talents, the event reflects Muaythai’s continued global growth and its expanding role within the Olympic Movement. Conducted in full accordance with WMC and IFMA standards, the competition places athlete safety, integrity, and sporting excellence at the forefront.

The event will also provide an international platform for Malaysia to further strengthen its position as one of the sport’s leading nations.

Dato’ Shahnaz Azmi highlighted Malaysia’s continued commitment to the development of Muaythai, noting that the country will also host the upcoming IFMA World Championships next month — another significant milestone that reinforces Malaysia’s standing on the global stage.

Malaysia has already demonstrated its ability to deliver world-class Muaythai events, including hosting the internationally acclaimed television series The Challenger Muaythai, which introduced the sport to audiences worldwide.
