The Malaysia INTERSCHOOL Challenge marks a significant milestone in the promotion of Muaythai from the grassroots level. The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Malaysian Muaythai Federation under IFMA, has successfully integrated Muaythai into the school curriculum.

For the first time, an interschool competition was held in Sabah, aimed at promoting Muaythai not only as a sport but also as a cultural art form and an educational tool. This initiative is crucial for the future development of various national and regional events, including the Malaysian National Games, SEA Games, Sabah Games, Islamic Games, and many others.

Muaythai in Malaysia is fully recognized by the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Sports. The cooperation with the Ministry of Education marks an important step forward. Dato’ Shahnaz Azmi, Malaysian Muaythai President and Chair of the IFMA Education Commission, emphasized the importance of continuing to promote Olympism and building for and with the next generation.

Congratulations to the Supreme Council and the Committee of the Sabah State Muaythai Association, as well as Kota Marudu, for their outstanding efforts in making this event a success!
