A very productive meeting took place in Bangkok between Local Organising Committee of the World Muaythai Championships 2019, the Amateur Muaythai Association of Thailand and IFMA international office.
The preparation for the World Championships is going full steam and the local organising committee gave a detailed report on delivering the event of the highest scale; from airport pick-up to doping tests, cultural programme and live streaming, opening ceremony and field of play, each point has been thoroughly discussed and presented at the meeting and the World Championships 2019 promises to be one of the most notable events in the IFMA calendar.
IFMA President Dr Sakchye Tapsuwan said that it was very important to bring the World Championships back to Thailand to honour His Majesty the King and organise celebration of His Birthday. This year the event should truly leave the legacy to be remembered for many years.
With World Games 2021 qualification events starting this year the biggest names of the modern muaythai already made lists of their national teams to compete for the qualification points for Birmingham. Bangkok will see the world best fighters taking opportunity to prove their champion’s ambitions.
