The SportAccord Convention started for IFMA with the International World Games Association General Assembly which was full of important messages and speeches.
The President Jose Perurena opened the Assembly by welcoming all IWGA members in Bangkok and again congratulated all sports on the successful World Games 2017 and expressed confidence in the upcoming World Games 2021 in Birmingham.
The IOC Sports Director Kit McConnel made a special message on cooperation between IOC and IWGA and how important and successful it was in Wroclaw. The partnership between IOC and IWGA will continue in with the motto of sharing experience which will give a special exposure for all the sports in the programme at the Birmingham edition of the Games.


The hosts of the upcoming World Games 2021 arrived in Bangkok and made a report on the preparation of the Games which three years before the beginning is going ahead of time.
IFMA President Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan represented IFMA at the Assembly and said that he has a strong belief that Muaythai will keep being a strong partner of the World Games after a successful edition in Poland.

One of the important news of the Assembly was the reelection of Jose Perurena for the following term. Mr. Perurena thanked all the international federation for the trust and promised to keep bringing the best of what IWGA can offer to its members.

The most important news for all Muaythai stakeholders was the announcement of the sports making the programme for the World Games 2021 in Birmingham where Muaythai will be in the programme after its debut in Wroclaw.
