Over 1000 athletes and officials turned up for the first official weigh-in at the 2016 IFMA World Championship in Jonkoping, Sweden. Athletes from over 80 countries and all 5 continents gathered together to receive their medical check-up and their first official weigh in. Chairman of the IFMA Medical Commission Doctor Erdogan made the announcement that every athlete passed the medical and came with the proper documentation which includes full medical certificates, blood tests, pregnancy tests for female athletes and presented themselves in best shape.

The IFMA Athletes Commission chairman Janice Lyn stated that there is an unbelievable atmosphere, the athletes are all motivated to book their place for the 2017 World Games http://www.theworldgames.org/ and judging by the high calibre of the fighters the level of the competition will be truly World Championship like.

The professionalism of the athletes was clearly stated in the fact that not only every athlete passed the medical but every athlete made weight. The spirit of the championship could be felt with so many different nations in one room preparing to compete against each other while maintaining the highest level of respect and friendship between each other.
