Muaythai has truly become a world recognised martial art and combat sport and a proud member of the Olympic family being recognised by SportAccord, AIMS, IWGA, FISU and so on.The next milestone for muaythai is to achieve individual recognition by the IOC with a number of criteria have to be fulfilled. It was an honour for IFMA having the Head of the IOC Sports Partnerships, Mrs Jenny Mann be part of an IFMA world event.

Mrs. Mann participated in many activities; one of them being the Joint Commission Meeting of some of important IFMA commissions,
Youth Commission chaired by IFMA Vice President and President of Pan American Muaythai Federation Elisa Salinas,
Female Commission chaired by Sue Glassey IFMA Vice President and President of Oceania Maythai Federation,
Education Commission chaired by Dato Shahnaz Azmi IFMA Executive Board Member from Malaysia,
Athletes’ Commission chaired by Janice Lyn from Canada,
Legal Commission chaired by Mervyn Tan, IFMA Executive Board member and General Secretary of Asian Muaythai Federation,
Ethics Commission represented by Niahm Gryffyn from Ireland,
Medical Commission chaired by Dr. Erdogan Aydin, IFMA Executive Board member from Turkey,
IFMA Sport For All Commission chair Abigail Kaizun Pamei from India,

Chair of IFMA Social Responsibility Unit Azadeh Kamyabi from Iran and certainly IFMA President Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan, IFMA Secretary General Stephan Fox and IFMA Sport Director Mrs Charissa Tynan.

The meeting gave the IOC fantastic insight into the work, vision and mission IFMA has and continues to put in to make muaythai a sport for Every Body, IFMA supports and promotes the vision which is very much in line with the Olympic Movement by sustaining and developing sports as well as education of youth through muaythai and using the power of sport to make a positive contribution to society.

IFMA will continue to act in good governance, to ensure that the sport and organisation will be credible, that the practice of sport and muaythai is a human right and Every Body must have the possibility of practicing muaythai without discrimination of any kind.
