On the 18th of June 2011, the Hellenic Muaythai Federation (HMF) organized yet another successful intra club muaythai event in Pireas, Greece, sanctioned by the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA). The event took place in the “P. Nikolaidis” stadium of Keratsini, home of all first league sport events, with a capacity for hundreds of spectators.

Many new HMF member clubs from all over Greece took part at this event. Fighters traveled from Crete, Santorini, Corfu and Attiki, and gave their best for fantastic bouts. Fighters gracing the ring consisted of IFMA World Champions, European (EMF) and Balkan Champions, as well as novice muaythai athletes who found themselves in the ring for their first fight, aspiring for great future within our sport. Every fighter is instructed to give their best in every fight, and so they did, which made for an event full of excitement.

The highlight of the event saw women alongside with junior fighters, aged around 10 years old, making their presence noticeable by fighting with much strength and courage to the roaring applause from the spectators. All fights took place under full IFMA rules and regulations, with everyone wearing the necessary protective equipment regulated by the amateur world Federation.

The next muaythai event in Greece is already planned for the beginning of next month, and all fighters and friends of the sport will be seeing each other in Santorini for the Hellenic Federation’s annual muaythai summer camp from the 7th to the 12th of July, 2011.
