Ten thousand children from all Thailand’s provinces participated in this year’s festival in honour of HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, jointly organized by the BMA, the WMC and IFMA. The children come from all walks of life, from schools and social institutions, all participating in various non-fighting contests such as the Wai Khru and Muaythai technique, Muay Aerobic (Kee-a-Muaythai), Muaythai Music and Na-ta Muaythai. In each of these divisions, there were two categories: under 15 and over 15.

The final three days of the children’s competitions were held inside the MCC Hall in the The Mall Bang Kapi, with performances by children from ages 6-17. The winners all had the chance to give their winning performances again, as part of the entertainment program for the Prince’s Cup. Many VIPs and embassies were in attendance, and the event was opened by the Deputy Governor of the City of Bangkok, Mrs. Taya Teepsuwan, the president of the WMC, General Chetta Thanajaro, and the President of IFMA and AMTAT, under Royal Patronage, Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan.

It was a fantastic initiative by the City of Bangkok and all these groups, as part of the “Sport Is Your Gang” campaign, with many more events to come. After this year’s success, there is no doubt that in 2013, an even larger competition will be arranged.
