Bangkok, 19th October, 2016 – The Royal Thai Government introduced the “Creative Thailand 2016” as a showcase of the creative economy concept, the nationwide campaign covering creative people, creative places, and creative products. It was under the theme “Think Big”, it took place at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) from 19 to 23 October, 2016. In parallel with the Creative Thailand 2016, there was also the 41st Bangkok International Gift Fair and Bangkok International Houseware Fair (BIG + BIH), which represented the creative products aspect of the event.

Muaythai iGLA, the IFMA and WMC education system was selected as one of the showcases in ‘Baht and Brain’ showcase exhibition designed and organized by TCDC (Thailand and Creative Design Center). The showcase area was in front of the exhibition hall that showcases flagship creative products that will bring Thailand to the new S-Curve economy.

The Muaythai iGLA showcase involved 5 main creative areas naming (i) for Intellectual property, (G) for game, (L) for digital library, and (A) for animation, plus (E) for education. These areas are aiming to take Muaythai from legend to the global community.

Deputy Prime Minister and economic affairs Minister Somkid Jatusripitak visited the booth and the iGLA team reported progress of the project to him. Additionally, during his opening speech later on, he emphasized on how creative economy would bring Thailand into a new era of Thailand 4.0 or S-curve economy and mentioned about Muaythai that he just visited that brought Muaythai education to the world of 130 countries with creativity and technology.  Thank you for mentioning us, Minister.
