December 6th 2016 will be forever remembered as the historical day when the sport and art of muaythai via the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur was recognised by the International Olympic Committee. Muaythai is many hundred years old, but this major milestone will pave the way for the future as muaythai now sits on the same table as all Olympic recognised sports.

This achievement is the culmination of 20 years of strategic planning in youth development, gender equality, universality, structured anti-doping programmes and the stringent adherence to the Olympic Values and certainly our own values that everybody must have the right and opportunity to practice sport without discrimination.
