Closing Speech to IFMA Executive Committee Meeting By HE General Pichitr Kullavanijaya, Privy Councilor to HM the King, Honorary President WMC, IFMA and FAMA – July 7, 2007, Windsor Hotel
The first bi-annual meeting of 2007 for the IFMA World Executive Board was held from 5th July to 7th July at the Windsor Suites hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, where all the leading names in Muaythai came together again for 3 days of decision making for the next 12 months and the future.
The meeting was opened by HE Dr Suvit Yodmani, Minister of Tourism & Sports, Thailand, who made a very impressive speech to the Muaythai delegates.
Also present was the President of the Olympic Committee of Thailand, HE General Yuthasak Sasiprapha, showing his support to IFMA, together with the Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, Mr Kanokphand Chulakasem. This shows that IFMA has the full support of both the Royal Thai Government and the Olympic Committee of Thailand.
High on the agenda was the upcoming IFMA World Championships, held from 27th November to 5th December. The World Championships have been fully approved by the Royal Thai Government and is now one of the government projects for the celebrations of His Majesty’s the King of Thailand’s 80th birthday. 2,000 athletes, coaches and officials are expected to participate in this event, and further details will available online shortly.
Another important point on the agenda was the upcoming GAISF World Martial Art Games, and the upcoming GAISF World Martial Art meeting to be held in Bangkok later in the year, chaired by the President of GAISF, Mr Hein Verbruggen.
The meeting was closed by HE General Pichitr Kullavanijaya, Privy Councilor to HM the King of Thailand, who made a very emotional speech.
