The International Federation of Muaythai, the IOC recognised federation governing the sport and are of muaythai (IFMA) signed an important partnership agreement with the International Testing Agency (ITA). This will see the ITA implement IFMA’s anti-doping programme from January 2019 onwards.

In 2019 – 2020 the following areas will be outsourced to the ITA:

IFMA’s compliance with the World Anti-Doping Agency Code and the protection of its clean athletes is one of the key priorities. The agreement was signed in Lausanne where IFMA recently opened its Branch office in the Olympic Capital.

The continuous improvement and implementation of our Anti-Doping programmes is key for us and does not only include doping control in and out of competition but also grassroots education for all stakeholders in the IFMA family. Benjamin Cohen, Director General of the ITA stated “Ever since the establishment of the ITA, the IFMA has shown a keen interest in partnering with us thus demonstrating its clear commitment to clean sport and its dedication to protecting its athletes. I am delighted to announce this partnership as it will see the ITA support the IFMA Family with a strong anti-doping program, not only through testing but also education”.
