Athletes from around 40 countries will make their way to South Korea to participate at the 2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships. The event, which is under the patronage of GAISF, the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, UNESCO and many others, will see martial arts and cultural events taking place over a 6-day period.

The IOC will be represented by IOC Vice President Mr Zaiquing Yu from China, GAISF & SportAccord by its President Raffaele Chiulli, the honourary chairman of the event, the 8th UN Secretary General Mr Ban Ki Moon, Chairman of the Organising Committee Governor Si Jong Lee, an IFMA has been given a special honour with IFMA Secretary General appointed as co-Chair of the event alongside Ban Ki Moon.

A special Martial Arts Forum will take place, organized by the World Martial Arts Committee (WMC) in cooperation with the United Through Sports (UTS) initiative. Chair of the IFMA Athletes Commission, whom is also the Muaythai Ambassador for the event stated that this would be another unique event where sporting and cultural exchange are the key factors.
