The IFMA President, Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan has led tributes towards the sad passing of Mr. Abdul Karim Al Hilali. Mr. Abdul Karim Al Hilali has served the world of muaythai at the national level as the President of the Royal Moroccan Muaythai Federation and has been instrumental in the African development of muaythai in his role as the President of the African Muaythai Union and also the development of muaythai in the Arab regions as the Vice President of the Arab Muaythai Federation. Sport and muaythai was the center of his life.
We lost a wonderful friend. The 30 years story of IFMA is the story of friendship and cooperation between the Royal Moroccan Muaythai Federation and Mr. Abdul Karim Al Hilali.
His service to sport in Morocco and Africa and in the Arab regions were immense and it is a sad day for IFMA and certainly the wider martial arts community in Morocco.
Mr. Abdul Karim Al Hilali loved muaythai and above all, being with the athletes and his passion was infectious for everyone who knew him.
IFMA will later in the year honor the life of Mr. Abdul Karim Al Hilali. At this moment, our prayers and thoughts will go to all of his family and loved ones. The IFMA flag will fly at half-mast for the next 3 days and we all bow down to a friend, remember his life and his contribution to sport and muaythai.
