Dr Erdogan Aydin, Chair of IFMA Medical Commission, attended the three-day WADA Conference in Katowice, Poland where leaders of international sports federations, GAISF led by the President Raffaele Chiulli and many more were in attendance to discuss and exchange ideas on protecting athletes and keeping sport clean.

The President of the International Olympic Committee Dr. Thomas Bach gave a welcoming speech to all the participants again reminding that playing clean is the essence of competition and the IOC will keep working to protect athletes and their strive to excellence.

The event was full of meetings and discussions with the main subject how to keep athletes protected from cheaters and ways to raise awareness among sports federations on prohibited substances and updates in the WADA Code.
Mr. Aydin said that important points were made at the meeting with education having a primary importance for each international federation. “Education should precede testing and we must not test an athlete who we did not educate” said Mr. Aydin. “Cheated Athletes must have an official medal ceremony with the national anthem and flag.”

With the IOC recognition three years ago IFMA is proud to be one of WADA code signatories and stay on defense of clean sport.
