IFMA General Secretary Stephan Fox and SportAccord Convention Managing Director Nis Hatt signed a contract for Sochi 2015. Owned by SportAccord, ASOIF, AIOWF, ARISF and AIMS, SportAccord Convention annually brings together representatives from more than 100 International Sports Federations and organisations affiliated to SportAccord (General Association of International Sports Federations), ASOIF (Association of Summer Olympic International Federations), AIOWF (Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations), ARISF (Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations), and AIMS (Alliance of Independent Members of SportAccord).
SportAccord Convention receives the full support of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), who organises the IOC Executive Board spring meeting at each Convention. In addition to its Executive Board Meeting, the IOC also holds its annual joint meetings with SportAccord, ASOIF and AIOWF.
Muaythai has been a proud member SportAccord since 2006, and an exhibitor at every SportAccord Convention since 2006, and is looking forward to another successful convention as a member of SportAccord to promote Muaythai as a cultural art form, combat sport, health and fitness, and a way of life during the convention which will be held from April 19 to 24.
The SportAccord Convection will be the 13th annual convention, due to take place between April 19 and 24 in the city which successfully hosted this year’s Winter Olympics and Paralympics. The 2015 event will be SportAccord’s World Sport and Business Summit and is set to be the biggest in the event’s history with more than 7,500 delegates expected to attend.
