An important meeting took place in the Islamic Republic of Iran, which resulted in the election of a new president for the Iran National Muaythai Association. IFMA would like to congratulate Dr. Seyed Mirhadi Ghare Seyed Romiani. The Iranian Muaythai Association is a strong member in the IFMA family and has done some important work, especially towards female development, with Iran sending a female team to the IFMA World Cup in Kazan and is also sending female officials to the international technical courses. 

Iran has already qualified for the 2017 World Games in Poland and it is now the aim of the association to continue grassroots development, for both male and female. The Iranian national team will participate with a large delegation in the upcoming Muaythai World Championships in Minsk, the Youth World Championships in Bangkok, the World Games in Poland and the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Turkmenistan.

IFMA President, Dr. Tapsuwan conveyed a personal congratulations in a letter. The Secretary General of the Iranian NOC, Dr. Shahrokh Shahnazi was present to witness the election and has sent an official confirmation to IFMA.
